Domestic Violence

What is Domestic Violence?

Domestic Violence (DV) is when someone you know and love hurts you. It can be a family member, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, or common-law spouse.

DV can be physical, verbal, emotional or economic abuse.

If you are afraid of the person you live with;
If you have been hit, kicked, pushed, grabbed or had things thrown at you;
If you aren't allowed to go out, get a job, or go to school without permission;
If someone takes your money, your hearing aid, your TTY;
If you are kept from your friends or family;
If someone threatens you, your children, or pets;

You may be a victim of DV.
